I'm so glad you are here! It is my joy to help aspiring violin and viola musicians reach their playing goals and excel on their instruments. With 20 years of professional playing experience, it has been my honor to then teach others to grow personally in their talent. I believe the discipline that learning and perfecting a musical instrument instills in students creates growth in other areas of their life as well.
In addition to my passion for teaching, I also love to play professionally whenever I get the chance. I have worked countless gigs with a variety of musical tastes including pop and modern, classical, jazz, wedding, religious and within orchestras for world-renowned musicians at the Footprint Center, Orpheum Theater and more. I am a co-founder of Emotion String Quartet, and as a group we perform regularly for corporate events and weddings. Having started my career as an orchestra teacher for Gilbert Public Schools, teaching has always been a love of mine and I open up my studio on select days for private lessons with students ages 6+.
As an Arizona Native and ASU alumni with a degree in music, my family and I have enjoyed raising our three daughters and son in the East Valley with an appreciation for music as well! We all have a sweet spot for musicals and singing. Our two older daughters play string instruments, and our younger two children will start soon as well.

"I took lessons from Heather for six years and my time learning from her shaped my love for music which has stayed with me ever since. She is kind, compassionate, and cares for her students greatly. She is an incredible musician and teaches violin with great skill and dedication. Whether you are just beginning or have been playing for years, any violinist would be lucky to have her as their private instructor." -Sydney
“My daughter (13) has been taking violin lessons from Heather for almost 2 years now. Heather is an excellent teacher in 2 important respects: first, she has a great deal of music knowledge to teach and second, she is able to praise and correct her students very well. She has the ability to correct them without criticizing them. I would highly recommend Heather to anyone seeking a good qualified teacher.” -Lori
“Learning to play the violin has been a life-long dream of mine. As an adult beginner with no previous musical knowledge or experience, I am amazed at how much I have learned in such a short time. I accredit this to Heather. Heather is a gifted teacher. She is patient, encouraging, supportive, and always makes the lessons enjoyable!” -Reta
“Sydney’s love for music has increased 10 fold since she has been working with Heather. Her violin is rarely out of her hands. She plays non-stop. She gets so excited about learning a new skill, and is constantly showing us what she’s learned. Music brings such joy to Sydney, and we thank Heather for encouraging her to be the best she can be.” -Janice
“Our son, Keegan, has been Heather’s student for 6 years. He has grown and nurtured his playing violin with Heather. He gained position with MYS and Fiddler, as well as 1st chair in his section in orchestra. We are very proud of his talent and so appreciate Heather’s ability to relate and keep Keagen on track.”-KC
“I would recommend Heather. She is kind and likes knowing how you are doing. Her patience and understanding is great. I have already learned so much. In addition, I was 16th chair out of 35 at Metropolitan Youth Symphony (MYS) and moved to eighth chair because of her (moved up eight chairs). I love Heather and know that any new student will love her too.” -Jessica
“I have been taking private lessons with Mrs. Heather for several years now. Last year, I decided I wanted to play violin throughout my high school career, as well as in college. Mrs. Heather helped me customize a hand-made violin that was made in Romania. Now, I have a beautiful violin that I know is one of a kind that I can play for years. Mrs. Heather is not only the best teacher, but she’s always willing to ‘go the extra mile’ for her students. P.S. We love our Heather.” - Tiffany
